  • Mass in F# Minor by Zenobia Powell Perry for SATB Chorus, piano or organ, with soprano and baritone soloists, was composed in 1967 for Christ Episcopal Church of Xenia, Ohio. It is in five sections: Kyrie eleison, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei and Gloria in Excelsis. Usually, the Gloria is the second movement of a Mass, but she chose to end the work with it--a compositional choice and not a theological one.   24 pages.

A lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the USA, choral director, and church organist, the writing is accessible and appropriate, yet modern in its musical language. This work was performed at St Paul’s Church at Covent Garden in London, October 15, 2021, by the London Oriana Choir. Thanks for Bill Hawkins Finn and Daniel Ferguson for their assistance.
